WINDHOEK, 07 MAR (NAMPA) – Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) is currently participating at the Internationale Tourismus-Börse Berlin (ITB Berlin), which is the leading tourism fair in the world.
A media statement issued by NWR on Thursday said the fair presents the company with a rare opportunity to showcase its services to the world, in addition to gaining insight into emerging trends within the tourism industry.
NWR joins over 30 other Namibian companies in showcasing what Namibia has to offer the world.
The mission to Berlin is led by Environment and Tourism Minister, Pohamba Shifeta, while the Namibia Tourism Board (NTB) has been at the forefront of making the visit possible.
NWR Managing Director, Zelna Hengari said the NTB, which is responsible for marketing Namibia as a travel destination must be commended for the excellent work they have done this year.
“They by far exceeded all our expectations and ensured that we could leave our mark. I believe that by the end of the fair we will leave with a considerable amount of business,” she said.
Hengari is of the view that since Germany contributes the bulk of European travellers to Namibia, it is vital that Namibia never miss an opportunity to make further inroads into the German market.
She said 97 056 Germans visited Namibia for holiday purposes in 2017 alone.
The fair started on Wednesday and ends Monday.
