Four inmates escape from Omega Police Station

RUNDU, 05 MAR (NAMPA) – Four inmates escaped from the Omega Police Station holding cells in the Kavango East Region on Friday.
A crime report issued by Namibian Police Force spokesperson Kauna Shikwambi on Tuesday said the inmates climbed through a corridor window.
Two of the escapees - who are Batswana - were detained for poaching.
The other two, Angolan nationals, were arrested for rape.
No arrests have been made so far and the search for the four men continues.
In another incident, a 70-year-old woman from Ndama settlement in Rundu was allegedly raped by a 39-year-old man on Saturday.
It is alleged that the suspect met the victim on her way home from a shebeen around 21h00, pushed her to the ground and had sexual intercourse with her without her consent.
The suspect has been arrested.
