Orano mining donates computers to ERC

SWAKOPMUND, 01 MAR (NAMPA) – Orano Mining Namibia donated 22 computers to the Erongo Regional Council on Friday.
The mining company forms part of the Orano Group, a multinational nuclear fuel cycle company with its headquarters in France. The company is engaged in uranium mining, conversion-enrichment, spent fuel recycling, nuclear logistics, dismantling and nuclear cycle engineering activities.
Orano Mining Namibia Managing Director, Hilifa Mbako in a speech read on his behalf stressed the importance of giving back to the community.
“Orano values the work you are doing in our region and we also want to help you while you carry out these meaningful contributions,” he said.
The second-hand computers, valued at N.dollars 22 000, will be distributed to the Daures, Otjimbingwe, Karibib and Usakos constituencies, Chairperson of the Regional Council Management Committee, Hafeni Ndemula said.
“This is not a small donation and we are grateful for it. We will be handing these computers over to offices who have nothing and are in dire need in remote areas,” Ndemula noted.
