DRC president arrives in Namibia

WINDHOEK, 26 FEB (NAMPA) – President Felix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) arrived at the Hosea Kutako International Airport on Tuesday.
He was received by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.
This is Tshisekedi’s maiden visit to Namibia after succeeding former DRC President, Joseph Kabila in January this year.
The DRC Head of State was met by a joyous crowd of about 60 DRC nationals singing and welcoming him to the country.
Namibia’s Ambassador to DRC, Simeon Ulenga was also among the delegates at the airport.
Tshisekedi is expected to return to his country on Wednesday after meeting with President Hage Geingob, who is also Chairperson of the Southern African Development Community.
