WINDHOEK, 12 FEB (NAMPA) - Tura Magic Football Club head coach Gareth Eichab has said his team is ready to face MTC Namibia Premier League (NPL) defending champions, African Stars Wednesday night.
Eichab, who will be facing African Stars for the first time as head coach, told Nampa on Tuesday they have prepared well and are ready to fight for every point on match day.
“We want to be in the top four as a club. Our aim is to win all our games and collect points were necessary to avoid Black Africa from running away with the league title which they are currently doing after just 12 games,” he said.
Tura Magic, who have thus far played 11 games, are in seventh position on 17 points, while African Stars have played nine games and are on 18 points occupying fourth place on the log standing.
The coach added that the match between African Stars and his team has a lot of history attached to it based on the number of players from Tura Magic who now ply their trade for African Stars.
“We have a team full of young footballers who are ready to show what they are made of,” Eichab said.
With some teams having played 12 matches in the NPL, Black Africa are top of the log standing on 29 points while Mighty Gunners are second on 21 points with a game in hand.
