Katutura Derby between Pirates and Stars headlines weekend fixtures

REHOBOTH, 12 FEB (NAMPA) – The Namibia Premier League Round 12 matches are scheduled to take place in Windhoek, Karasburg, Rundu and Okahandja from Wednesday.
The Katutura Derby between Orlando Pirates and African Stars will headline the fixtures, which were released on Monday.
Defending champions African Stars face the stubborn Tura Magic at the Sam Nujoma Stadium at 20h00 in what promises to be an exciting encounter, while on Friday title chasing Black Africa will face second placed Mighty Gunners in a top of the table clash at 20h00, also at the Sam Nujoma Stadium.
Black Africa will be buoyed by their 7-2 victory over Blue Waters on Sunday to get one over the stubborn uniformed men of Otjiwarongo to extend the lead at the top of the table to 12 points.
At the Rundu Sport Stadium Saturday at 16h00, Julinho Sporting will want to get on track in their title chase when they face high flying Life Fighters, while in Okahandja home team Okahandja United will hunt for only their second win in the top flight when they face Citizens at 16h00 at the Nau-Aib Stadium.
In Karasburg, also on Saturday, Young Brazilians will face University of Namibia (UNAM) Football Club at the Karasburg Combined School at 16h00.
Sam Nujoma Stadium will see the match of the round when struggling Orlando Pirates face African Stars at 16h00.
Black Africa lead the log with 29 points after 12 matches, followed by Mighty Gunners on 21 points after 11 matches.
Third place is occupied by Life Fighters on 18 points after 10 matches, while African Stars are in fourth place also on 18 points, having conceded more goals.
Citizens are in fifth place after 10 matches, Julinho Sporting sixth also having played 10 matches and Tura Magic in seventh, having played 11 matches. All three teams are on 17 points, only separated by goal difference.
Tigers are in eighth spot with 14 points after 12 matches, while Eleven Arrows after 12 matches as well, are in ninth with 13 points.
UNAM and Young Brazilians are in 10th and 11th place with 11 points after 10 matches, while Okahandja United are in 12th spot with nine points after 11 matches.
Coastal giants Blue Waters are in 13th place with nine points, having played 12 matches, but with an inferior goal difference.
Civics are in 14th place with seven points after 11 matches, while Orlando Pirates prop up the log in 15th place with six points.
