ONGWEDIVA, 11 FEB (NAMPA) – Former chairperson of the Ondonga Traditional Council, Peter Shimweefeleni Kauluma, 82, died at a private hospital in Windhoek on Monday.
The deceased's daughter, Lahia Kauluma, confirmed this to Nampa on Monday afternoon, adding that her father was admitted in the hospital due to ill-health on Monday last week.
“He passed on this morning and we are now preparing to travel today from here (Windhoek) to the north,” she noted, adding that the bereavement is taking place at his homestead at Ongula yaNetanga village in the Ohangwena Region.
Kauluma joined the Ondonga Traditional Authority in 1982 and served the council for 35 years before the leader of the OTA, Immanuel Kauluma Elifas, relieved him of his duties along with six other traditional councillors in July 2017.
