KAITE to be held in early September

KEETMANSHOOP, 07 FEB (NAMPA) – Keetmanshoop Mayor and patron of the Keetmanshoop Agricultural Industrial and Tourism Expo (KAITE), Gaudentia Kröhne, on Thursday announced the dates for this year’s event.
Kröhne announced that the expo, which is in its 63rd year of existence and aims to bring together partners in trading and build economic friendships for the prosperity of the town of Keetmanshoop and the nation at large, will take place between 03 and 07 September this year.
Speaking at the launch ceremony here, Kröhne urged the inhabitants of the //Kharas region to participate in the event, adding that it is not only important for the town but also the region, with its ability to boost the economy and root out poverty.
“Events such as this [are] not only beneficial to the individual businesses but also to the development and the economy of the town,” she said, further urging businesses, especially those in the mining and fishing industries, to dig deep into their budgets and support the initiative.
Keetmanshoop Show Society President, Charles Josob said at the same event that the inhabitants needs to join hands and assist in every way they can for a better, bigger and successful expo.
“It is not about the money. Of course we need finances but we also need human resource to assist us with the event. We want to include everyone. We do not want to exclude anyone,” he said.
As a means to raise funds for the expo, the KAITE society will host a gala dinner on the 29 March this year.
The expo attracts exhibitors from all over Namibia and South Africa.
