Girl allegedly raped by domestic worker

WINDHOEK, 04 FEB (NAMPA) – A 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped by their 19-year-old domestic worker on Saturday around 18h00 at Engoyi village in the Onyaanya area.
According to a crime report issued by the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) on Monday, it is alleged that the suspect had sexual intercourse with the minor, who is a Grade 6 learner at Engoyi Combined School.
The suspect was arrested and police investigation continues.
In a similar case, a 34-year-old woman was allegedly raped at Mariental by two suspects, who followed her home from a drinking spot, on Saturday at about 22h50.
It is alleged that the two followed her in the direction of the graveyard at Aimablaagte residential area, where they overpowered her, undressed her and raped her one after the other.
The woman reported the known suspects, but they are not yet arrested and police investigations continue.
In a separate incident, the NamPol report stated that 45-year-old Gabriel Namulombo, who worked at the Namibian Defence Force at 26 Artillery Military Base in Rundu, died on the spot after he allegedly shot himself in the head with his private pistol on Friday.
The incident happened at around 21h02 and no suicide note was found at the scene.
His next of kin are informed.
In a similar case, Lovisa Ananias, 36, was found hanging from a rope in her room on Friday at about 22h00 at Havana Informal Settlement in Windhoek.
No suicide note was found and her next of kin were notified.
