Geingob to visit SADC headquarters in Botswana

WINDHOEK, 30 JAN (NAMPA) – President Hage Geingob will on Friday undertake an official visit to the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Headquarters in Gaborone, Botswana.
According to a press statement issued on Tuesday by the SADC Secretariat, the objectives of the visit is to enable Geingob, as SADC Chairperson, to appreciate the work done by the secretariat in facilitating the organisation of the regional agenda and to provide guidance on the secretariat’s implementation of SADC programmes.
The statement noted that Geingob will also address the secretariat staff and inform them about the operations of the organisation.
The visit will further review the implementation of the decisions of the 38th SADC Summit of Heads of State and Government held in Windhoek in August 2018, where Namibia assumed the SADC chairpersonship.
