MoHSS empolyee dies in shooting incident

WINDHOEK, 28 JAN (NAMPA)- Khomas Regional Crime Coordinator of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Sylvanus Nghishidimbwa has confirmed a shooting incident that took place at around 11h00 at Frans Indongo Building in the capital on Monday.
Briefing the media at the scene, Nghishidimbwa said a male suspect allegedly shot two females (ages unknown), employed by the Global Fund under the Ministry of Health and Social Services.
He said one victim, identified as Saara Mulima, died at the scene while another, Ester Amupolo, was rushed to the Roman Catholic Private Hospital.
The deceased’s next of kin have been informed of her death.
Nghishidimbwa further noted that the suspect, also an employee of the Ministry of Health and Social Services, handed himself over to the Wanaheda Police Station shortly after the incident.
The motive for the shooting is still unknown and police investigations into the matter continue.
