RUNDU, 23 JAN (NAMPA) – A 21-year-old woman was raped by an unknown man at Rundu on Monday.
The Namibian Police Force’s Crime Investigations Coordinator for Kavango East, Deputy Commissioner Bonifatius Kanyetu told Nampa Wednesday the incident occurred near the Agro Marketing and Trade Agency building around 21h00, while the woman was walking from Sauyemwa to Ndama alone.
The man allegedly threatened to stab her if she screams, then forced her to the ground.
“He removed her clothes and had sexual intercourse with her, without her consent,” Kanyetu said.
The police have not yet made any arrests.
The deputy commissioner also called on women to not walk around alone at night to avoid such incidences.
Police investigations continue.
