General Nambundunga dies

ONGWEDIVA, 15 JAN (NAMPA) – Former army commander, retired Major-General Peter Nambundunga, died on Monday.
He was 72.
His son, Martin Nambundunga, confirmed his death, saying his father died in the MediPark Private Hospital at Ongwediva around 19h00 on Monday.
Nambundunga joined the Namibian Defence Force as a colonel at independence and served in various positions such as chief of staff, army commander and acting chief of the defence force before his retirement in 2011.
He joined the Ohangwena Regional Council in May 2014 as special advisor to Ohangwena Governor Usko Nghaamwa, a position he held until his death.
