REHOBOTH, 10 JAN (NAMPA) - A 50-year-old woman arrested on 20 October for the alleged murder of her 60-year-old boyfriend made her fourth appearance in the Rehoboth Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.

The accused, Julia Ausiku, appeared before Magistrate Kandinawapa Nangombe, who postponed the case to 31 January 2019 for the accused to apply for legal aid and for further police investigations.

It is alleged that Ausiku stabbed the deceased, Malisiu Vatileni, in the chest with a kitchen knife. He died in bed, where his body was discovered on 20 October.

It is unknown when exactly the incident took place and what led to the stabbing.

It is also suspected that both the deceased and the accused were under the influence of alcohol the night before the victim’s body was found.

The incident occurred at Farm Platsand, 38 kilometres north of Rehoboth.

Public Prosecutor Zibiho Munenze represented the State in the matter.

Ausiku was denied bail and is being detained at the Rehoboth Police holding cells.
