WINDHOEK, 08 JAN (NAMPA) – South African music producer Dan Tshanda’s death is a great loss to the Okakarara community.
This is according to Okakarara constituency councillor, Vetaruhe Kandorozu.
Tshanda reportedly died of heart failure in Johannesburg, South Africa on Sunday.
Kandorozu told Nampa on Monday the late Tshanda, through his band Splash, not only entertained the community during his visits to the town, but also added value to the Okakarara Trade Fair.
“It is really a great loss for us,” he said.
Kandorozu further said they are happy that as a community they had the chance to see him for the last time when he performed in Okakarara in 2016.
“I hope the remaining members of the band will continue his legacy and we hope to invite them again soon,” he said.
The late Tshanda was also the brain behind groups such as Dalom Kids and artists like Patricia Majalisa.
His music was loved not only in South Africa, but also in neighbouring countries such as Namibia, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
The family is yet to announce memorial and funeral plans.
