Eight-year-old girl allegedly raped by brother at Rehoboth

REHOBOTH, 06 JAN (NAMPA) – An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her 17-year-old brother in Rehoboth’s Block E Friday night.
The Namibian Police Force’s Acting Regional Crime Investigations Coordinator for the Hardap Region, Detective Chief Inspector Simon Hauwanga told Nampa on Sunday the incident was reported around midnight.
“It is alleged that the suspect raped his sister and is on the run. It is believed he is out of town,” Hauwanga said.
The police have opened a case of rape and the matter is under investigation.
In a separate incident on Friday, N.dollars 15 000 in cash was stolen from the brick-making factory in Mariental.
Hauwanga said a grinder was used to break into the premises.
No-one has been arrested in connection with the matter and the money has not been recovered.
The police opened a case of housebreaking with intent to steal and investigations into the matter continue.
