ONGWEDIVA, 06 JAN (NAMPA) – A 29-year-old man died after allegedly being involved in a fight over a USB at Omakango village near Endola on Saturday.
The police in the Oshana Region have arrested two suspects, both aged 24, after Hafunda Helasitus Hingashipola’s body was found in a field.
Confirming the arrest to Nampa on Saturday, Sergeant Frieda Shikole of the Namibian Police Force’s Public Relations Unit in the region said the three men had been involved in a fight at a bar at Omakango Friday night.
Hingashipola had allegedly accused the two men of stealing his USB that went missing from the bar.
Shikole said Hingashipola Saturday morning went to the suspects’ house, where they fought again.
“After the fight, he left their house and walked some distance away,” reads a crime report issued on Saturday.
Hingashipola’s body was found in a field around 13h00 with bruising on his face and a bloody nose.
A case of murder was opened at the Ongwediva Police Station against the two suspects, whose names are withheld as they are yet to appear in court at Oshakati.
