Khomas region records 38 new births on New Year’s Day

WINDHOEK, 02 JAN (NAMPA) – The Khomas Region welcomed 38 babies born on New Year’s Day - 20 boys and 18 girls.
The Katutura Intermediate Hospital recorded the highest number of babies at 18, seven girls and 11 boys, followed by the Windhoek Central Hospital (WCH) with 14 babies.
A registered nurse at the WCH, Lea Wilbard confirmed to Nampa on Wednesday that the hospital recorded seven boys and seven girls.
General Manager at Lady Pohamba Private Hospital, Hannelie Botha said their hospital recorded three births - two girls and a boy.
“Everything went smoothly and we did not experience any complications,” she noted.
The Rhino Park Private Hospital also recorded births of two girls and a boy, while the Mediclinic Private Hospital did not record any new births on New Year’s Day.
