WINDHOEK, 01 JAN (NAMPA) - A man allegedly threatened to shoot his ex-girlfriend in the informal settlement of Ombili in Windhoek on Saturday.
A media statement issued by City Police spokesperson Fabian Amukwelele on Monday said the incident occurred around 20h24.
The woman had apparently refused to take her ex-boyfriend back and he then pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot her.
“She however refused to open a case against him,” it said.
In a separate incident, a woman was allegedly violently assaulted by her intoxicated boyfriend after she refused to give him more money for alcohol in Khomasdal in the early hours of Monday.
The woman was saved after neighbours called the police.
The media statement said such cases are common during the festive season, adding that women and men should be vigilant and keep an eye on their partner’s behaviour.
“Men need to accept when their girlfriends end relationships and women should know when your partner hits you the first time, he will do it again,” the police statement said.
