Police officer allegedly hangs himself at Okatope

WINDHOEK, 28 DEC (NAMPA) - A police officer reportedly hanged himself at Okatope in the Oshikoto Region on Wednesday.
A crime report issued by the Namibian Police on Friday said the 34-year-old man had been organising a party with friends.
“He was left home alone while his mother and siblings went to a cuca shop. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of the deceased hanging from a tree in the homestead,” it said.
No suicide note was left behind.
The police reported another suicide on Christmas Day, saying a 40-year old man hanged himself from a tree in Windhoek’s Monte Christo Road.
The motive is unknown and no suicide note was left behind.
His next of kin were informed and police investigations continue.
