Two perish in collision on Okahandja-Otjiwarongo B1 road

OTJIWARONGO, 21 DEC (NAMPA) – A 33-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman died instantly in the early hours of Friday morning after the sedan they were travelling in collided head-on with a minibus on the Okahandja-Otjiwarongo B1 road.
Namibian Police Force Otjozondjupa Regional Commander, Commissioner Heinrich Tjiveze told Nampa on Friday afternoon that the crash occurred at about 02h00 around 70 kilometres north of Okahandja.
He said the minibus with three occupants including the 27-year-old driver was travelling from the direction of Otjiwarongo and the sedan from the opposite direction.
“At approximately 70 kilometres north of Okahandja, the two vehicles collided head-on in the middle of the road, killing the driver of the sedan and his female passenger,” said Tjiveze.
The occupants in the minibus survived the accident with slight injuries.
The close relatives of the deceased are yet to be informed and police investigations in the matter continue.
