The Okakarara Constituency Councillor, Vetaruhe Kandorozu and his staff organised the event.

He thanked all Namibian pensioners for their immense contributions towards the economy of the country during their active days.
“During your active days, you built schools for us, roads and paved the way for us to be here where we are today. It is for this reason we would like to thank you for that contribution in this small way,” he said.
Sarah Xsavesei, 80, praised Kandorozu for his wisdom and asked him to continue treating the elders with Christmas gifts in the future.
“I am really very happy with our constituency councillor for remembering us a few days before the world celebrates Christmas,” said Xsavesei.
Another elder, 89-year-old Jocobs Kaputara said the organisers of the early Christmas lunch did a good job, noting he also used the opportunity to mingle with other old friends he does not get to see often.
