OSHAKATI, 19 DEC (NAMPA) - Andreas Nyanyukweni Kandjumbwa, 44, died after the sedan he was driving overturned on the Ondangwa-Oshikango B1 road on Monday.
Sergeant Frieda Shikole of the Namibian Police Force in the Oshana Region, told Nampa on Wednesday that the crash took place at about 19h45 near the Indangungu village, from where Kandjumbwa hailed.
“The deceased lost control of the car which he was driving,” Shikole noted. He was alone in the car.
His next of kin are informed and a culpable homicide case has been opened at Ondangwa.
The Ondangwa Police on the same day registered a case of malicious damage to property after an angry man smashed the windscreens of a pick-up belonging to Chief Justice Peter Shivute at ‘I AM Me BAR’ at the Okapya village near Ondangwa.
Nandago Petinen, 37, was with Shivute’s pick-up and is the complainant in case.
“The fight broke out between the complainant and the suspect about a stolen cellphone, which was later found in the possession of the complainant and then the complainant ran away,” Shikole explained.
This, Shikole said, prompted the suspect to smash all windows of the vehicle, including the canopy.
The value of the damage is estimated at N.dollars 15 000.
