Stars-Civics match postponed due to CAF fixture

REHOBOTH, 17 DEC (NAMPA) – The Namibia Premier League (NPL) on Monday postponed three fixtures of Round 7 matches due to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League return leg between African Stars and South Africa’s Orlando Pirates.
African Stars are due to play Orlando Pirates at the Sam Nujoma Stadium this Saturday in their CAF return leg after they held the Buccaneers to a goalless draw in Johannesburg on Saturday.
The postponed fixtures are the Round 6 match between African Stars and Civics set to be played on Wednesday and the Tigers versus African Stars and Orlando Pirates against Eleven Arrows Round 7 matches that were scheduled for Saturday.
A letter seen by this agency and signed by NPL League Administrator Joshua ||Hoëbeb said the matches are postponed indefinitely and caused by unforeseen circumstances.
The Round 7 matches scheduled for the week will see Tura Magic facing high flying Julinho Sporting at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Tuesday at 20h00, while on Wednesday newcomers Okahandja United will square off against wounded Young Brazilians in the ‘Battle of the Rookies’ at the Nau-Aib Stadium at 17h00.
On Thursday, Civics will face Young African at the Sam Nujoma Stadium at 20h00, while on Friday at the same venue, Black Africa will try to bounce back from their weekend defeat against Young African when they face University of Namibia Football Club at 20h00.
Elsewhere in Otjiwarongo, at the Mokati Stadium on Saturday, table topping Mighty Gunners will welcome Citizens who are having a good season so far in a match scheduled for 16h00.
In Walvis Bay the same day at 16h00, Blue Waters will welcome Kahirona as Life Fighters are also known at the Kuisebmund Stadium.
