Man dies on Cham-Cham district road

WINDHOEK, 15 DEC (NAMPA) – The police are investigating the death of a 23-year-old man who was found dead on the Cham-Cham district road in the Oshikoto Region on Saturday.
The Head of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Public Relations Division, Deputy Commissioner Edwin Kanguatjivi said at the weekly crime briefing here on Sunday Samuel Petrus and his co-workers on Friday visited cuca shops in the vicinity of the farm where they are employed.
As they were return to the farm, Petrus fell ill and his colleagues left him behind.
“Upon their return the following morning to look for him, he was found dead,” Kanguatjivi said.
Police investigations into the matter continue.
Meanwhile in the same region, a 29-year-old security guard was arrested for shooting a man from King Kauluma village in the early morning hours of Sunday.
The 31-year-old Amon Paulus sustained injuries to his feet when the security guard shot him at a bar.
Paulus had allegedly been involved in an argument with other patrons of the bar and the guard attempted to chase them away. When they refused to leave, he allegedly shot at them, wounding Paulus in the process.
The security guard has since been arrested.
