WINDHOEK, 09 DEC (NAMPA) – Citizens Football Club beat Orlando Pirates 2-1 at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in a fifth round match of the MTC Namibia Premier League (NPL) on Friday.
Pirates’ form this season has been indifferent as the defeat comes after the Katutura giants beat the then log leaders Mighty Gunners 1-0 in Otjiwarongo to register their first win of the season last Saturday.
However, Citizens have shown good form, winning their second successive match following their 3-1 victory over Tura Magic in the previous round.
Magic continue to struggle under new coach Mohammed Gargo and followed up their defeat last week with a draw against Life Fighters.
The teams played to a 1-1 draw on Saturday with new boy Solomo Omseb scoring his fourth goal of the season for Magic, while Ronaldo Tjikurunda replied for Fighters.
Gunners managed to bounce back from their loss to Pirates last week by beating Blue Waters 2-0 at the coast.
