SA man busted with cannabis worth over N.dollars 2 million

KEETMANSHOOP, 06 DEC (NAMPA) – A 36-year-old South African man was on Thursday arrested at the Keetmanshoop police roadblock with cannabis weighing 244 kilogrammes.
The Namibian Police Force’s crime investigations coordinator for //Kharas, Deputy Commissioner Chrispin Mubebo told Nampa on Thursday the cannabis valued at over N.dollars 2 million was found when the truck the man was driving, was searched.
“The truck entered Namibia from South Africa through the Ariamsvlei Border Post, but it was not detected there. This was just a random search,” he said.
The suspect will appear in the Keetmanshoop Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
Police investigations continue.
Mubebo warned the community to stay away from crime, especially drug-related activities this festive season, and encouraged them to abide by the law.
“We are hard at work and we will not leave any stone unturned to ensure that our region is drug free,” he added.
