Windhoek Pop-Up Festival taking place this weekend

WINDHOEK, 06 DEC (NAMPA) – The third Windhoek Pop-Up Festival will take place at the Trustco United Sports Field from Friday to Sunday.
The festival is a bi-annual music and exhibition event aimed at bringing visibility to small and medium enterprises in a recreational environment.
Event co-founder, Nicla dos Santos, in an interview with Nampa during their final activation activity this past weekend, emphasised the importance of the experience the festival provides.
“I want people to see that festivals aren't all about drinking (alcohol). Drinking just adds to what we want to provide, which is the experience,” he said.
The event is centred on business empowerment by using a multiple stall set-up to create a platform for various forms of business to exhibit, network, raise capital through sales and create awareness.
Dos Santos said every instalment of the festival has a different theme and location.
The first festival was held at the Old Power Station in Windhoek in 2017. The second festival was held at the Swakopmund Sports Grounds in July this year.
Live music performances by Gazza and Stanzo, among other local talents, are lined up to entertain the masses.
Abassier Leukes, another co-founder, said they try to make the event as inclusive as possible.
“The date is ideal. It is just before people start traveling and just after everyone gets paid. In addition, it’s the first big festival for the summer,” he added.
Tickets are available at Airtime City or online at Events Today.
