Alleged murderer back in court at Keetmanshoop

KEETMANSHOOP, 29 NOV (NAMPA) Police investigations in the case of a 29-year-old man accused of murdering a 39-year-old man here in May this year, have not yet been finalised.
The accused, Benny Pieters, made another appearance in the Keetmanshoop Magistrates Court on Thursday, where Magistrate Murray Shikongo postponed his case to 30 January 2019 for the completion of police investigations as per request by State representative, Marlon Adams.
During his first court appearance, Pieters indicated that he will apply for legal aid and Quinton Haoseb was appointed to represent him.
During his second court appearance, Pieters was granted bail of N.dollars 2 500 by Shikongo on condition that he reports to the Bethanie Police Station every Friday between 09h00 and 17h00.
Pieters allegedly stabbed Moses Uapingathana in the chest with a knife at a shebeen in the TransNamib residential area on 12 May.
Uapingathana died on the spot.
