Try Again FC win NamPol soccer bonanza at Keetmanshoop

KEETMANSHOOP, 26 NOV (NAMPA) – Try Again Football Club (FC) were on Sunday declared champions of the first //Kharas Regional Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Sport Club annual soccer bonanza.
The bonanza took place from 24 to 25 November at the J Stephanus Stadium in Tseiblaagte, Keetmanshoop and saw 16 teams from the region taking part.
The tournament served as preparation for the //Kharas NamPol soccer team when they compete in next year’s national championships where NamPol teams from all 14 regions will be competing.
The final match was played between Try Again and Dates Eleven and after no goal was scored in regulation time, a penalty shoot-out ensued, where Try Again FC won by a 4-2 score line.
The team walked away with N.dollars 15 000 in cash, a floating trophy and 20 gold medals.
Naute-based runners-up, Dates Eleven, walked away with N.dollars 10 000 and 20 silver medals, while Lovely FC from Keetmanshoop and Young Bafana from Koës both walked away with N.dollars 2 500 as losing semi-finalists.
