Mighty Gunners extends lead to three points at the top

WINDHOEK, 26 NOV (NAMPA) – Otjiwarongo-based outfit Mighty Gunners extended their lead atop the MTC Namibia Premier League (NPL) table, following a 3-0 victory over Tura Magic at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in the capital on Sunday afternoon.
The army team, belonging to the Namibia Defence Force, moved three points clear of second-placed Black Africa who still have a game in hand and will face Tigers FC on Wednesday evening.
Mighty Gunners came out firing on all cylinders as they opened the scoring towards the end of the first half through the boot of Asser Hara-Ramseb in the 43rd minute, before the player completed his brace in the 53rd minute to give his side a 2-0 advantage.
Gunners’ last goal on the day came from Barnanda Horaseb in the 65th minute to confine Tura Magic to their first taste of defeat this season. With the win against Tura Magic, Gunners became the first club in the NPL this season to retain their winning run after three rounds of competition.
Other weekend results saw Okahandja United playing to a goalless with Civics in Okahandja, while Life Fighters defeated UNAM FC at the SKW Sports Field in the capital.
Young Brazilian collected a point at home in Karasburg against Citizens in a match that ended 1-1, while in Walvis Bay, Eleven Arrows and Young African also shared the spoils after their 1-1 draw.
In Windhoek at the Sam Nujoma stadium Orlando Pirate continued with their poor start to the season, recording a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Blue Waters.
