City of Windhoek to elect new office-bearers

WINDHOEK, 26 NOV (NAMPA) – The City of Windhoek (CoW) nominations and elections for office-bearers for 2018 will take place on Thursday.
This was announced by CoW Public Relations Officer, Lydia Amutenya on Monday.
The elections will include those for the mayor, deputy mayor and five members of the management committee.
Muezee Kazapua is the current mayor who was first appointed in the position in 2014, succeeding Agnes Kafula, and was re-elected in 2017.
Deputy mayor Teckla Uugwanga served in her position for 2018 after replacing former deputy mayor Fransina Kahungu.
Meanwhile, Matheus Amadhila, Moses Shiikwa, Matrid Ukeva, Loide Kaiyamo and Agatha Ashilelo served as members of the management committee.
The other councillors are Kahungu, Brunhilde Cornelius, Joseph Kauandenge, Ananias Niizimba, Immanuel Paulus, Ignatius Semba, Ian Subasubani and Hileni Ulumbu.
