KEETMANSHOOP, 22 NOV (NAMPA) – The //Kharas regional police sport club annual soccer bonanza is slated for 24 to 25 November at the J Stephanus Stadium in Tseiblaagte, Keetmanshoop.
The event, according to one of the organisers Deon Motinga, serves as preparation of the regional Namibian Police (NamPol) soccer team towards the annual police championships where NamPol teams from all 14 regions compete.
“This will also serve as a fundraising event for the NamPol //Kharas team as we have to cater for ourselves in terms of food and tracksuits for the regional police championships next year,” Motinga told Nampa on Thursday.
He said the draw will take place on Friday and teams from the second division, third division and non-league of the region are set to take part in the soccer bonanza.
The winner will receive N.dollars 15 000 in cash, a floating trophy and 20 gold medals.
Runners-up will walk away with N.dollars 10 000 and 20 silver medals while the semi-final losers will walk away with N.dollars 2 500 each.
