Two teenagers die in accident on Karibib-Naukluft road

SWAKOPMUND, 12 NOV (NAMPA) – Two girls aged 15 and 18 died in an accident on the gravel road between Karibib and the Namib-Naukluft National Park on Sunday.
A crime report issued by Detective Inspector Daniel Gurirab in the Erongo Region said the vehicle they were travelling in overturned around 10h00, some 61 kilometres from Karibib.
The deceased have been identified as the 15-year-old Monach Xoagus and Grace Nauises, 18.
Their next of kin have been informed.
“It is alleged that the driver of a pick-up, which was carrying 11 people in total, lost control over the vehicle, which veered off the road and overturned,” Gurirab said.
The driver sustained serious injuries, while the other passengers sustained slight injuries.
The injured persons were admitted to the Usakos State Hospital in stable condition.
