Teams in SV Soccer Tournament semi-finals split prize

ONGWEDIVA, 12 NOV (NAMPA) – More than 10 football clubs from in and around Oshakati participated in the SV Soccer Tournament held at the town's Ompumbu informal settlement on Saturday and Sunday.
Tournament organiser, Benyamin Kamatuwa, told Nampa in an interview Monday Khuse Academy Football Club (FC), Okamwandi FC, Katengela FC and Oneshila Big Daddy FC reached the semi-final.
He said as the proceedings went on quite late, the four teams decided Sunday night not to go ahead with the finals.
“It was too late for us to finish on Sunday as we planned and as such, the four teams agreed to share the prize,” Kamatuwa explained, adding that each team received N.dollars 2 500.
Football fan and resident of Ompumbu, Stephanus Vatileni, availed N.dollars 10 000 as sponsorship for the tournament, which was open to football clubs from all regions.
Other prizes up for grabs were N.dollars 200 and a trophy for the best player of the tournament and N.dollars 200 for the best behaved team.
