Woman killed by boyfriend at Swakopmund

SWAKOPMUND, 03 NOV, (NAMPA) - The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) is on the hunt for a murder suspect who left the Swakopmund community in shock after he allegedly killed his girlfriend on Friday.

According to NamPol’s Erongo Regional Crime Investigations Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu in a crime report issued on Friday evening, the incident took place at around 16h00 at the couple's residence in the Vineta residential area.

“The deceased, who has been identified as 39-year-old Lindie Prinsloo was found dead in a pool of blood in the bathroom, with a wide open cut on her throat,” Iikuyu noted.

The suspect was reported as abusive and was out on bail on common assault and assault by threatening charges, after he had allegedly threatened to kill the deceased.

He also reportedly drove away with a deceased's car, a white Kia hatchback with the registration number N 1556 S.

NamPol is therefore calling upon anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspect to come forth with immediate effect, Iikuyu added.

The deceased’s next of kin have been informer and investigations into the matter continue.
