Didier Drogba will soon be gracing the local television screens with a Windhoek Lager bottle in his hands thanks to a deal clinched by the Namibian Breweries Limited (NBL).
NBL has teamed up with the legendary football player on a two year contract estimated to be worth N$1.2m and he will be appearing in TV commercials, posters, billboards and other advertising collateral for the Windhoek Lager brand.
The advert is called, Pan-African advertising campaign.
Senior Brand Manager Jacqueline Pack, confirmed the ‘Pan African’ advertising campaign saying it celebrates the story of a beer from Africa that has grown to be celebrated and loved world-wide, and draws comparison to the Galatasary striker who has followed a similar journey.
“Windhoek Lager looked for a world class African hero that they could partner with as an ambassador for the brand,” she said.
The former Chelsea man who graced several billboards across the world for a Samsung campaign during his England stay said, “It’s great to see an African beer become so popular in so many different countries. I am looking forward to visiting Namibian shores soon to see the home of Windhoek Lager”.
