RUNDU, 29 OCT (NAMPA) – Well-known Rundu businessman, Joseph Kanuni Hungamo, 42, appeared in the Rundu Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of assault through threatening and malicious damage to property.
The same charges were also levelled against his relative, Nangolo Cappycalla Isaack, 29, who is said to have destroyed property alongside Hungamo at the home of Leevi Kakukuru, who served as the Rundu Town Council’s divisional head of technical and mechanical affairs until last year.
Isaack was arrested on Friday after the alleged incident, while Hungamo was arrested on Sunday.
The two men appeared before Magistrate Barry Mufana, who granted them bail of N.dollars 3 000 each.
Their case was adjourned to 22 November 2018 for further police investigations.
The two accused allegedly intentionally damaged property belonging to Kakukuru, who is the complainant, and allegedly also threatened to burn down his house.
They allegedly went to the complainant’s house, where they found the gate locked, then reportedly rammed it open and then also repeatedly bumped a pick-up truck parked inside the yard.
