South African businessman dies in accident in Kavango West

RUNDU, 24 OCT (NAMPA) – A 45-year-old businessman from Cape Town, South Africa died in the Kavango West Region on Monday when his car overturned.
Namibian Police Force’s Regional Commander, Commissioner Josephat Abel told Nampa on Wednesday the accident occurred around 21h52 at Zone village, which is situated between Mpungu and Nkurenkuru.
The name of the deceased cannot be revealed as his next of kin are yet to be informed.
The man, who was driving a Mercedes Benz, was headed from Rundu to Oshakati.
“When they reached Zone village, he hit a calf and lost control over the car and it overturned,” Abel said.
The businessman died on the spot while his passenger, identified as Marthin Sean, was injured and rushed to the Mpungu Clinic.
He is in a stable condition.
