Geingob to leave for Kenya on Thursday

WINDHOEK, 17 OCT (NAMPA) – President Hage Geingob will on Thursday depart to the Republic of Kenya for a state visit before proceeding to Geneva, Switzerland to participate in the 2018 United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) World Investment Forum.
Press Secretary in the Presidency, Alfredo Hengari in a media statement issued on Wednesday said the Namibian Leader will visit Kenya from 18 to 21 October 2018.
“The state visit to Kenya by Geingob as Head of State aims to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the areas of trade, investment and business exchanges,” he explained.
He added that the Namibian leader will also deliver a statement as special guest on the occasion of the celebration of Kenya’s National Heroes Day on 20 October.
Following the state visit to Kenya, the President will participate in the 2018 UNCTAD World Investment Forum from 22-26 October in Geneva, Switzerland.
Hengari continued that Geingob will address a high-level forum of global leaders in business and politics, convening under the theme ‘Investing in Sustainable Development’ in the European nation.
“This will offer a platform for Namibia to showcase investment opportunities in Geneva and he will hold meetings with global leaders and business executives,” the statement said.
Geingob will depart Geneva for Windhoek on 25 October 2018.
