Namibia Sevens team to compete at Africa Men’s Sevens

WINDHOEK, 12 OCT (NAMPA) – The national Rugby Sevens team will compete at the Rugby Africa’s Sevens tournament ‘Africa Men’s Sevens’ from 13 to 14 October 2018, in Monastir, Tunisia.
According to online sources, the Africa Men’s Sevens, formerly known as the Africa Cup Sevens, is an annual rugby sevens tournament involving African nations and is organised by Rugby Africa. It has been in existence since 2013.
The tournament acts as a qualifying event for the Rugby World Cup Sevens and Olympic Rugby Sevens.
Uganda are currently the competition’s defending champions after winning in 2017.
This year’s tournaments will be played over two days and the winner of the Africa Men’s Sevens will be the 2018 African Champion.
The 12 teams competing at this championship are Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Madagascar, Zambia, Tunisia, Senegal, Morocco, Botswana, Ghana, Mauritius and Namibia.
The matches will kick off on Saturday morning and will be streamed live on YouTube through the APO Group on behalf of Rugby Africa.
