REHOBOTH, 10 OCT (NAMPA) - A man accused of stabbing his cousin to death at Gochas in the Hardap Region on 24 March this year, made his fifth court appearance at the village on Wednesday, where his case was postponed to 13 November 2018 for further investigations.
Willem Kooper, 24, appeared before Magistrate Yvonne McLeod on a charge of murder.
The case was on the roll for finalisation of the accuseds legal aid application.
It is alleged that the victim, 28-year-old Andries Kooper, died after allegedly being stabbed by the accused at their home in the Hei-eib residential area. The accused was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when he got home and started arguing with the victim.
Kooper made his first appearance on 26 March and was denied bail on the grounds of public interest and the matter being in the early stages of investigation.
He was represented by SC Garbers on instruction of the Legal Aid department in the Ministry of Justice.
Kooper was denied bail and remains in custody at the Gochas police holding cells until his next court appearance.
Prosecutor Waomba Murangi represented the State.
