Tweya survives accident near Grootfontein

OTJIWARONGO, 07 OCT (NAMPA) - Minister of Industrialisation, Trade and SME Development, Tjekero Tweya on Sunday survived an accident when his private vehicle overturned on the B8 road in the Grootfontein District.
Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force in the Otjozondjupa Region, Warrant Officer Maureen Mbeha confirmed the accident in an interview with Nampa.
The minister, who was alone in his Land Cruiser, escaped the accident unhurt, said Mbeha.
He was however expected to visit a medical facility in Grootfontein for a check-up.
Tweya was driving from the direction of Rundu at the time of accident, which occurred at approximately 12h15 some 35 kilometres outside Grootfontein.
Police investigations in the matter continue.
