Bush Bucks and Eeshoke Chulachula promoted to NEFD

REHOBOTH, 23 SEP (NAMPA) – Bush Bucks from Katima Mulilo and Eeshoke Chulachula from Eenhana were on Sunday promoted to the North East Stream First Division after they ended in the top two of a five-team promotion play-off.
The matches, which started on Saturday at Omulunga Stadium in Grootfontein, saw Bush Bucks topping the log after they won three of their four matches, while Eshoke Chulachula ended second on 8 points.
On Saturday, Bush Bucks defeated Kantema Bullets 2-0 in their first match, before going down by the same scoreline against Eeshoke Chulachula, while on Sunday they annihilated Safile United 7-0, before winning 2-1 against Young Western Fighters in their last game.
Eeshoke Chulachula won their first match 1-0 against Safile United and were held 2-all by Young Western Fighters in their second match.
On Sunday they drew 1-all against Kantema Bullets.
A total of 37 goals were scored over the two days.
Meanwhile the two teams that ended fifth in the two groups, Eastern Chiefs and KK United, will be involved in another play-off match that will see one team going down to make space for one of the teams that were relegated from the Namibia Premier League (NPL).
The date of the playoffs will still be decided upon.
The relegated NPL teams are Chief Santos and Rundu Chiefs.
