RUNDU, 19 SEP (NAMPA) – The annual Rundu Trade Fair, which is normally held in November by the Rundu Town Council (RTC), will not take place this year, RTC Acting Chief Executive Officer, Sikongo Haihambo has said.
Haihambo confirmed the council’s decision to cancel this year’s edition of the event in an interview with Nampa on Tuesday.
The acting CEO, who is also the interim chairperson of the organising committee of the event, said the council resolved to skip the event this year and use the opportunity to reflect on everything that transpired at last year’s event.
“We are going to use this opportunity to plan better and maybe make it more interesting and much more relevant,” said Haihambo.
He added that it will also give the council room to plan for next year’s trade fair and bring in exciting activities.
The Rundu Trade Fair, formerly known as the Kavango Trade Fair under the Rundu Urban Constituency, has been under the custodianship of the RTC since 2015.
