Onhuno-Eenhana road crash victims identified

WINDHOEK, 18 SEP (NAMPA) – The victims of a road crash that happened on the Onhuno-Eenhana road Monday afternoon have been identified.
Inspector Pendukeni Haikali of the Namibian Police Force in a statement on Tuesday said the driver of one of the vehicles involved in the incident, a black Toyota Allex, has been identified as Simon Nekongo, 41.
The other three passengers who also died on the scene are Paulus Nghinasheni Nghishoongele, 33; Shikondjeleni Natangwe Nafitali, 35; and Ndamononghenda Mbekele, 39.
The 24-year-old unlicensed male driver of the other vehicle, a silver Honda, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the Eenhana State Hospital, Haikali said.
It is alleged that the driver of the Honda was travelling from the eastern direction to the west when he collided head-on with the oncoming vehicle.
The deceased’s next of kin have been informed and investigations continue.
