Mariental murder case postponed to November

REHOBOTH, 13 SEP (NAMPA) - The man arrested for the murder of 51-year old Willem Johannes Pieters in Mariental on 25 July, made his second appearance in the Mariental Magistrate’s Court Thursday.
Patrick Skrywer, 57, appeared before Magistrate Verinao Kamahene, who postponed the matter to 05 November for further investigations and to allow for the accused's legal aid application.
It is alleged that Skrywer stabbed Pieters in his throat in Mariental’s Ombili informal settlement. Pieters succumbed to his wounds on 26 July in the Mariental State Hospital, where he was rushed soon after the incident.
Public Prosecutor Loide Nghixulifwa represented the State.
Skrywer was remanded in custody at the Mariental Police holding cells.
