REHOBOTH, 03 SEP (NAMPA) – A 25-year-old Rehoboth man arrested for allegedly stabbing and murdering a 34-year-old man made his first appearance at the Magistrates Court in Rehoboth on Monday.
Sagarius Levi made his first appearance in front of Magistrate Desire Kamboua, after which his case was postponed to 25 September 2018 for him to apply for legal aid.
He indicated that he already applied for a State-funded lawyer.
It is alleged that Levi stabbed Paul Afrikaner on the left side of his neck with an Okapi knife after he was apparently insulted at Rehoboth’s Block E residential area on Saturday.
He was denied bail on the grounds of the case being at an early stage and that the granting of bail would not be in the best interest of the public.
Levi was remanded into custody at the Rehoboth Police holding cells.
Public Prosecutor Victor Mutumbulwa appeared for the State.
