26-year-old woman stabbed to death by ex-boyfriend

WINDHOEK, 28 AUG (NAMPA) – A 26-year-old woman died on the spot after she was stabbed several times on her neck and back with a sharp object by her ex-boyfriend in Omaruru in the Erongo Region on Saturday.
A media release issued by the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) on Tuesday said it is alleged that the suspect went to the deceased’s ghetto, broke open the door of the ghetto and the victim escaped to the neigbor where the suspect followed and attacked her.
The incident happened between 21h00 and 21h30 in Omaruru’s old location and the 51-year-old suspect was arrested.
The deceased has been identified as Beverly Kuranngera and her next of kin have been informed about her death.
In a separate incident, a 45-year-old man succumbed to injuries after he was allegedly stabbed once on the neck on Sunday at Oshakati in the Oshana Region.
The unidentified man was allegedly stabbed by a 23-year-old boy during midnight at Kutya Bar in Ompumbu at about 00h00.
The deceased’s next of kin are not informed and police investigations continue but the suspect was arrested.
In another incident, a 19-year-old man died on the spot after he was allegedly shot with a nine millimetre pistol at about 00h20 on Sunday at Otjivero camp in the Omitara area of the Omaheke Region.
Two male suspects aged 37 and 51 were arrested in connection with the crime.
The deceased was identified as Elden Skrywer and his next of kin have been informed.
In Groot Aub, a 34-year-old male identified as Ulrich Klasen succumbed to injuries at a clinic after he was stabbed in the chest with a knife by a 28-year-old male suspect on Sunday at about 16h17.
It is alleged that the deceased and suspect had an argument.
The suspect was arrested and the deceased’s next of kin have been informed and police investigations continue.
In a suicide incident over the weekend, Adelheid Fillemon, 15, was found hanging with a rope around her neck in her sleeping hut on Saturday at about 16h30 at Oshipumbu village in the Ohangwena Region.
No suicide note was found and the deceased’s next of kin have been informed.
