Dolam Pirates wins Neudamm Soccer Bonanza

REHOBOTH, 28 AUG (NAMPA) – Dolam Pirates from Windhoek were crowned winners of the annual Neudamm Soccer Bonanza held at the University of Namibia (Unam)’s Neudamm Agriculture College over the weekend.
Dolam Pirates defeated Zim Stars 3-2 in the final and received N.dollars 10 000, a floating trophy and 20 gold medals as winners, while Zim Stars walked away with N.dollars 4 000 and 20 silver medals.
En route to the final Dolam Pirates defeated Tuk Tuk 1-0 in the first semi-final, with Zim Stars dispatching of Neudamm Galacticos 1-0 in the second semi-final.
Tournament organizer, Smart Isaacs told Nampa on Monday the tournament went well and was without major issues.
“We had a successful tournament although there is room for improvement. I am confident that we will improve and host a better tournament with each edition,” he said.
He applauded the teams for contributing to the success of the tournament.
“Our gratitude goes to all the teams and players along with their management for a successful contribution to complete the tournament. Let’s unite and improve grassroots football and produce players for our national teams,” Isaacs indicated.
The two losing semi-finalists, Tuk Tuk and Neudamm Galacticos each received N.dollars 2 000 for their efforts.
The tournament which attracted 12 teams commenced on Saturday and concluded on Monday.
